Description

The Cisco PowerVu Network Centre Intermediate Training (PNCI) v1.0 is a 5-day instructor-led course that introduces learners to how to perform advanced tasks, including configuring and troubleshooting a Cisco PowerVu system.
The course teaches learners how to configure devices through the PowerVu Network Centre control server and PowerVu Management Console, perform server administrative tasks, such as using basic UNIX commands, backing up the database, and rebooting the system, perform basic troubleshooting by reviewing available tools and verifying the signal and configuration from the signal input into the encoders to the signal reception at the decoders, and use Simulcrypt, Statmux, and Digital Program Insertion (DPI) advanced features.
The course is offered both in a classroom as well as virtually; however, considerably more hands-on opportunity is available when attending the course in a classroom.

Objectives

Upon completing this course, the learner will be able to meet these overall objectives:
  • Perform important server administrative tasks, which include user management, data replication, shutting down and restarting the system, and performing regular backups
  • Apply basic troubleshooting principles, PowerVu Network Centre utilities, and common tools when troubleshooting a PowerVu system
  • Specifying the function and configuration of each type of PowerVu device in the signal flow of the PowerVu system
  • Describe advanced features, such as Simulcrypt, Digital Program Insertion Source, and Statmux
