Description
The nil- UCS Implementation and Design ( INDOVISION_UCSID) v5.0 is an intensive five-day workshop that focuses on deployment, operations, and design of the Cisco Unified Computing System (UCS) B-Series Blade Servers.
In the first part of the course you will learn how to configure and manage Cisco UCS servers using Unified I/O networking for LAN and SAN connectivity, and how to virtualize server hardware identifiers to enable rapid recovery of server operating system images through service profile mobility.
The second part of this course describes the design-related aspects, which include how to evaluate the hardware components and the sizing process, how to define the server deployment model, how to address the management and environmental aspects, and how to design the network and storage perspectives of the Cisco Unified Computing System solution.
In labs, you will practice configuring fault tolerance, implementing role-based access control (RBAC), backing up and restoring system configurations, and using the monitoring and troubleshooting tools in Cisco UCS Manager.
You will gain hands-on experience working with provisioning Cisco B-Series servers, installing and configuring the Cisco Virtual Interface Card (VIC), and leveraging VMware vSphere on Cisco UCS B-Series infrastructure.

Objectives
After finishing this course, you will be able to:
- Implement high availability, manage the Cisco UCS, provision administrator access, and maintain Cisco UCS
- Install and provision Cisco UCS B-Series blade servers in the Cisco UCS 5108 blade chassis, know the characteristics of the different models of Cisco UCS I/O modules (IOM) and how to install them, understand the different connectivity topologies and options and how the Cisco Nexus Operating System (NX-OS) treats Ethernet and Fibre Channel traffic, and be acquainted with generation 2 hardware and all the newly introduced features
- Design and configure the connectivity of the Cisco UCS with the LAN and SAN infrastructures in your data center. You will be able to provision servers by leveraging reusable pools, policies, and templates that allow for rapid provisioning and consistency of policy
- Implement virtualization features unique to Cisco UCS that improve performance and manageability
- Use the reconnaissance and analysis tools to assess computing solution performance characteristics and requirements
- Identify the hardware components of Cisco UCS B-series and select proper hardware for a given set of requirements
- Design the Cisco UCS solution LAN and SAN connectivity
- Identify the Cisco UCS server deployment model and design one with proper naming, addressing and management for a given set of requirementss
